You arrive by a long, winding road where air thins and the world opens into creased plates of red earth and stacked mountain ridges. The drive up Cuesta del Obispo climbs toward 3,500 m, and the landscape changes from green Lerma valley to the skeletal silhouettes of candelabra cacti in Parque Nacional Los Cardones.
