In a single day you move from Belfast’s urban edge to basalt columns that stack like giant steps and a ruined medieval castle perched on the sea.

The scenic drive is roughly 1.5 hours (about 95 km / 59 miles) one-way via the Antrim Coast, depending on traffic and chosen stops.
The bridge itself may be closed to group tours at times; this tour includes a viewpoint at Portaneevy to photograph the bridge when access is restricted.
Bottled water and snacks are provided, but lunches, distillery admission and tastings at Bushmills are not included—bring cash or card and pre-book tastings if required.
The shore-based itinerary is adaptable and the vehicle is comfortable for all ages; however, some viewpoints and the Causeway involve uneven terrain that may be challenging for limited mobility.
The Causeway’s basalt columns formed during the Paleogene volcanism; nearby medieval sites like Dunluce and Carrickfergus reflect centuries of coastal defense and settlement.
