Set sail on Amsterdam’s famed canal network with the Exclusieve Diner Vaartocht, a 2.5-hour luxury salon boat dinner cruise that expertly combines the city’s rich history with culinary refinement. Amsterdam’s canals, a UNESCO World Heritage site, date back to the 17th century when the city’s bold urban planning created an intricate web of waterways that define its character today. As twilight deepens, these waterways transform into glowing ribbons, framing historic canal houses, quaint bridges, and softly lit streets. This unique dinner cruise places you front and center for one of the city’s most enchanting experiences.
Departing from Oosterdokskade in central Amsterdam, you board a classic salon boat designed for comfort and intimacy. With a maximum group size of just 20, the atmosphere is refined yet cozy, making it an ideal choice for special occasions, romantic evenings, or simply indulging in a distinctively elegant night out. Upon boarding, guests are welcomed with a glass of prosecco or a non-alcoholic alternative, setting a celebratory tone as the boat gently glides away from the dock.
Throughout the cruise, you’re seated at a private window table offering uninterrupted views of Amsterdam’s iconic canal scene. Candlelight flickers softly as the city’s illuminated 17th and 18th-century canal houses pass by, their reflections shimmering on the water. The expert crew pauses briefly at partner restaurants, including Le Hollandais, ensuring seamless service and a warm dining experience.
The highlight is the meticulously crafted three-course dinner served fresh onboard. Starting with light table garnishes, you then select from thoughtfully prepared dishes featuring fish, meat, or vegetarian options, all presented with a touch of Dutch culinary flair. Dessert completes the meal with a rich selection of decadent sweets. The soft sounds of water lapping and the peaceful night sky complete the sensory experience.
As one of Amsterdam’s premier canal dining adventures, this exclusive cruise offers travelers a chance to see the city’s luminous architecture from an intimate vantage point few other experiences provide. It’s a celebration of Dutch heritage, gastronomy, and the sheer magic of Amsterdam by night.
