You push off from the shop and the city expands around you—low sandstone houses, slim bell towers, and the broad, tree-lined promenade that crowns Lucca’s 16th‑century walls. The path curves, trees shade the route, and the streets inside promise short detours to cafés, hidden courtyards and topped-off views from medieval towers.

The continuous city walls are about 4.2 km around—allow extra time for riding into the historic center and stopping at sights.
