Lower Mustang routes in the Annapurna Conservation Area do not require the restricted area permit that Upper Mustang does, but you must have the Annapurna Conservation Area entry permit and TIMS card when required.
Spring (March–May) and autumn (September–November) offer the most stable weather, clear mountain views and moderate daytime temperatures.
Maximum elevations on this itinerary are around 3,100–3,200 m (Poon Hill and surrounding passes), with most nights spent below 2,800 m.
Basic teahouses and lodges with shared rooms and simple hot meals; facilities improve near Jomsom and Pokhara but are modest in remote villages.
