Embark on an unforgettable full-day adventure through Middle-earth, exploring iconic Lord of the Rings filming locations in New Zealand. Relive epic scenes at Helm’s Deep, Isengard, and Rivendell, while enjoying a behind-the-scenes experience at Weta Workshop. Immerse yourself in breathtaking landscapes and the magic of cinematic history!

You'll be transported to the Outer Shire to relive & recreate some of the most iconic scenes from Lord of the Rings! Hide away from the Black Riders & run fast to buckleberry ferry as we show you where movie magic was made!

Then we’ll head out of the city to the Hutt Valley to visit filming locations including Helm’s Deep, Minas Tirith, Isengard & Rivendell. During your tour you'll visit the Weta Cave & take part in the 90 minute Weta cave experience.

Itenerary Items

  • You will be collected from your central hotel, at the port or at the iSite
  • Check out the Embassy Theatre where the world premiere of Return of the King took place in 2003
  • Head up to the best vantage point in the city, Mount Victoria Lookout
  • We’ll check out Hobbits Hideaway where the first day of filming took place & we’ll recreate some iconic moments from the trilogy
  • You’ll take part in the 90 minute behind the scenes Weta Workshop Experience!
  • Cruise around Oriental Bay & soak up our beautiful city!
  • Visit the Hutt Valley region, home to some of the other most iconic scenes from the Trilogy
  • Check out Helms Deep & Minas Tirith
  • As we continue our journey into the Valley & stop at the River Anduin filming spot
  • Isengard is the next stop where amongst other scenes, we also recreate the meeting between Gandalf & Saruman
  • Now we head to Rivendell, part of a local regional park where more photo opportunities await.
  • You’ll also get to experience the clean, green environment that New Zealand is renowned for!
