Discover the vast estate of Blenheim Palace in the Oxfordshire village of Woodstock on a half-day tour from London, traveling by private car. The only non-royal or religious palace in the UK, Blenheim is the ancestral home of the dukes of Marlborough, and was built between 1705 and 1722.

What to Expect?

You will be collected from your Central London accommodation, where your driver will meet you at your chosen time of departure. You will then be driven through London in your private vehicle directly to Oxford.

Upon arrival you will be met by our associated partners Cotswold Exploring who will provide the full tour. In addition, you will be provided with the meeting point for your return journey.

Your tour starts with a 1.5 to 2 hour walking tour through the beautiful medieval city of Oxford, home to the oldest university in the UK. Take a walk through Oxford “Past and Present”, exploring the cobbled streets of the old walled city.

Visit one of the oldest colleges of the University, Christopher Wren’s Sheldonian Theatre, the Bodleian Library, Radcliffe Square and the Radcliffe Camera. Stroll along the High Street and see how Oxford has managed to weave a modern shopping area through buildings, which span over 800 years of history.

Finish the tour with a walk through Oxford’s Victorian Covered Market.

After lunch in a café or restaurant of your choice (£15 allowance) we set off for the charming Oxfordshire town of Woodstock and Blenheim Palace.

Blenheim Palace has been the home of the Dukes of Marlborough since the 18th century and was the birthplace of Sir Winston Churchill in 1874.

It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a venue for many different events as well as being a popular film location. Visit the exquisite State Rooms on your guided tour and enjoy free time to wander around the glorious formal and informal gardens.

After your visit to the Palace, you have time for a quick look around the town of Woodstock with its delightful art galleries, antiques shops and boutiques.

Return to Oxford to meet up with London Minicab Service who will drive you directly back to your accommodation in London.
