Morning light cuts across terraced rice paddies as a private van threads from Kuta toward the spine of Lombok. Within an hour and a half the road drops into a forested cleft and the roar of Benang Stokel announces itself — a clean cataract fed directly from Mount Rinjani’s uplands, plunging into a swim-ready pool. A short walk downstream through coffee and banana plots leads to Benang Kelambu, where water slips through curtains of plants and fans into narrow falls that look like green-framed windows.
