About

This is your opportunity to ride in the locomotive cab ride with the Engineer and crew during the round trip 22 mile excursion. You can experience what railroading is like from the cab of the locomotive!


Please Note

  • Solo Cab Riders must be 13 years or older
  • Cab Rides are not wheelchair accessible. Cab riders must be able to climb the steps on and off the locomotive and walk along the walkway on the outside of the locomotive
  • We have found that some people have sensitive hearing especially to the loud air horn on the locomotive so ear protection is available.
  • Only one cab rider is permitted in the locomotive at one time.
  • Cab riders must wear closed toe shoes. Guests wearing open-toed shoes will not be allowed to ride in the locomotive cab.

Adventure Tips

Arrive Early for Orientation

Check in at least 30 minutes before your scheduled ride for a safety briefing and to learn about the locomotive.

Wear Comfortable Closed-Toe Shoes

Secure footwear is recommended for climbing in and out of the cab and moving safely around the platform.

Bring a Light Jacket

The cab can get drafty, especially in early spring and late fall, so layering is a good idea.

Stay Hydrated and Bring Water

Though the ride isn’t strenuous, keeping hydrated enhances your comfort during the trip.
