Experience the joy of farm life with our engaging Little Farmers program! Over four weeks, children will learn hands-on skills in animal care, food growing, and responsibility, all while interacting with friendly farm animals. Join us for a memorable adventure filled with fun, learning, and outdoor exploration every Wednesday!

Session One - 4 weeks starting Wednesday, September 10, 2025 - Wednesday, October 1, 2025

NOTE - we also offer a Farm and Forest School - FALL SESSION for our older farmers (5+ years and older) ; 4 hours starting September 18, 2025

If you have children of multiples ages, but the majority are under the age of 5 years, we recommend that you register with our Little Farmers Program vs the Farm and Forest School (every Thursday).

At Jireh Hills Family Homestead, we have created a learning program that is designed by a qualified secondary school teacher that has been homeschooling and homesteading with her family for the past 18 years. As a mother of 8, Cheryl and her older girls, with the added assistance of her husband, this amazing teaching team has a vision to inspire and create a love of learning for each child in our program.

Our Little Farmers - Farm and Forest School is running TWO Fall Seasons that will meet regularly EVERY Wednesday for 4 consecutive weeks

We meet at 10AM (sharp!)- noonish Please arrive a few minutes early so we can start right away! BYO snack lunch that we will eat together before we dismiss

This program is designed with both child and adult involvement ; please come prepared to learn and have fun together with your child and other parents. Grandparents are welcome too!!!

Dress weather appropriate as we will be spending most of our time OUTDOORS

NOTE - we will run the program RAIN OR SHINE, so please be prepared for outdoors

Possible Topics Include :

Raising and caring for Milking Goats and their babies Feeding alpacas and using their unique fibre Fibre dyeing Meeting our big jersey cow feeding kunekune pigs Feeding chickens and collecting their eggs Bunny Circle Time Pony grooming, rides and learning how to speak pony language Building shelters and nests Making Cheese Story Time with friendly critters

NOTE - This program is designed as a 4 week program to cover each topic and allow younger children to get to know one another as they work together. There will be limited drop-in spots available if you are wanting to join us for just a single day.

Our Farm School is limited to 8 students per day and we will only be allowing up to 4 Drop-Ins per day.

Cost - $200 per child per day (reduced price for FULL SEASON enrolment)

Additional child or adult (same family) - $100 Price includes ONE parent staying Additional adults are welcome ($10 each; please register at check out) Non-walking infants are FREE and do not need to be registered, but they will be under the constant supervision and responsibility of the parent / guardian

Drop-in visitors are welcome - if you just want to join us for 1 or 2 days, you can select your date and register NOW

Dress for the Weather

Wear layered, weather-appropriate clothing as activities run rain or shine and involve outdoor exposure.

Arrive Early

Arrive a few minutes before 10 a.m. to ensure the program starts on time and your child can settle in smoothly.

Pack a snack and water for both child and accompanying adult to stay energized during the morning session.

Prepare for Hands-On Interaction

Children will engage with farm animals and soil; closed-toe shoes and easy-to-clean clothes are recommended.
