Morning light slides across the Tagus as the tour vehicle crests Almada and Cristo Rei watches over the river. Travelers step out onto the esplanade, wind pushing at coats and hair, the statue’s arms wide as if pointing the way south. From this high perch the sweep of Lisbon across the water is clear — a reminder that this transfer is part commute, part coastal introduction.
