Linen Quarter, once the centre of the world's largest linen manufacturing industry, remains one of the most vibrant and historical areas of Belfast. The wealth generated during that period is still clearly evident in the beautiful red brick buildings. Whilst this industry is long since gone, it played a central role in the Belfast we know and love today and we proudly still revel in those linen mills and the many yarns they still spin. This tour stiches the fascinating threads of history together from its majestic architecture, former resident scientists and inventors that changed the world, other characters and big personalities and significant events that shaped the city's destiny.

The tour incorporates many entertaining and fascinating stories about life and legacy of Belfast, from those early halcyon days to the dark days of the NI 'Troubles'. No building better encapsulates the resilience of the people and the city than the world renowned Europa Hotel whose stoical claim to fame is it is the most bombed hotel in the world. It is one of many incredible stories on this tour which also takes you on a journey through the many transformations and ups and downs in the Belfast story.

Some of the many highlights on this tour are the Moorish eclectic architecture of the Grand Opera House, a fabulous building in the hearts of people and the city since 1895.

The Victorian splendor of the Crown Liquor Saloon, undoubtedly one of the most famous Victorian 'Gin Palaces' in the world, extending its warm hospitality since 1849.

The Georgian excellence of Royal Belfast Academical Institute, educating the citizens of Belfast since 1814

The jewel in crown, Belfast City Hall, one of the finest municipal buildings in the UK/Ireland. The monumental ornate buildings that surround city hall are all story books of how Belfast was transformed from a small town to large industrial city.

On route we will visit Belfast's earliest monuments and statues, memorials and public art and realm that remember prominent citizens and historic events
