About

Light & Sound Immersion Meditation in the Cistern is a restorative evening sound healing meditation set within the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern’s reverberant chambers. Saumil Manek of Union is Creation produces resonant tones and harmonics while shifting light patterns by Kelly O’Brien of Fenris create a serene, dreamlike atmosphere. This unique experience invites deep relaxation, inner stillness, and a heightened connection to the senses.

What to Know:

Guests should bring their own cushions or mats. For sensitive hearing, guests may enjoy the experience with earplugs. No food or drinks are allowed inside the Cistern. Cistern doors close promptly on time. Once the doors close, there is no entry or re-entry.

Please note: children under the age of 9 are not permitted in the Cistern.

Parking Please plan on arriving 30-minutes before the session to allow time for parking and check-in at the Cistern entrance located at 105-B Sabine St. Houston, TX 77007.

Parking is available in the lot adjacent to the Buffalo Bayou Park Cistern. Overfill parking is available in City Lot H, located at 1643 Memorial Dr, Houston, TX 77007, just to the east of Fonde Recreation Center.

Please note that ticket purchases are non-refundable. All proceeds support the work of Buffalo Bayou Partnership, a non-profit organization.

Adventure Tips

Bring Your Own Cushions or Mats

The Cistern floors are concrete and damp in places; a cushion or mat ensures comfort during the meditation session.

Arrive 30 Minutes Early

Plan to arrive early for parking and check-in as doors close promptly with no late entry permitted.

To maintain the serene environment and protect the historic site, leave food and beverages outside before entering.
