About

This trip is approximately 1-1.5 hour and is full of enough excitement to challenge just about everyone from young tikes to grandmas and grandpas. Before your rafting trip, a Sierra South professional river guide will provide you with a trip overview, paddling gear and a paddle talk. Then it's anchors aweigh for three miles of jam-packed rafting action on Kern River rapids such as Big Daddy, Sidewinder, Freight Train, and Ewings. Wetsuits are not required but are highly recommended prior to late May or early June when the water is colder.

Months of operation: March - August • Trip Times: 10:30 am, 3:30 pm. • Minimums: Age: 8 Weight: 50 lbs (We may weigh small children) • Maximum Weight: 300 lbs • Limitations: All trips require a minimum of 4 guests. If participant numbers are not met we will notify you and provide various options for your trip to go.

All of our trips may be adjusted based on water levels and/or other conditions.


What to Bring

• We suggest you arrive at the store 30 minutes prior to the trip. Unless you have a group over 20 or are getting wetsuits, then please arrive 45 minutes to 1 hour prior. • Please wear shoes that will stay on your feet in the water. No flip-flops or bare-feet. You must wear tennis shoes, water shoes, or sandals that have a heel strap. • Our trips leave on schedule. • Price does not include gratuity, so if you like the ride...it's ok to tip your guide! Bring cash for tips. Last-minute items in our retail store can be paid by cash, credit or debit card.
