It formed part of Queen Anne's annulment settlement from King Henry VIII in 1541 •Lewes Castle: is a medieval castle in the town of Lewes in East Sussex, England. Originally called Bray Castle, it occupies a commanding position guarding the gap in the South Downs cut by the River Ouse and occupied by the towns of Lewes and Cliffe • Mount Caburn is a 480-foot prominent landmark in East Sussex, England, about one mile east of Lewes overlooking the village of Glynde. It is the highest part of an outlier of the South Downs, separated from the main range by Glynde Reach, a tributary of the River Ouse. Spectactular views overlooking Lewes. •Stop for a nice country pub lunch ( optional) • Harveys Brewy - if you like sample the local sussex famous ale.
