The snow hisses under the sled as the tree-line opens and the sky tilts into an ink-black dome, alive with pinpricks of starlight. Riders push out from Levi into wide, frozen plains, engines low and steady, following a trail that runs roughly 30 km across Lappish tundra. When the aurora appears it rolls and drifts like a living curtain; when it doesn’t, the bonfire’s glow and the spray of shooting stars fill the silence.
