For a student to attend this Level 3 Security Guard Firearms Course, you must have completed the Go Strapped Firearms Training Level 3 Online Certification Course. An online course taken by another company or instructor will not be accepted. If you took the online course through another company, please get in touch with that company to complete your firearms course or take our course at THIS LINK.

Meets Jan 1st 2024 HB 3424 Requirements on new Level 3 Firearms Proficiency

HB 3424 Requires the following for ALL Level 3 firearms qualifications... Beginning January 1, 2024

The handgun proficiency and self-defense course must include at least 10 hours and not more than 15 hours of in-person instruction with an on-site instructor approved by the department on:

  1. The laws that relate to weapons and to the use of deadly force;
  2. Handgun use, proficiency, and safety;
  3. Non-violent dispute resolution; [and]
  4. Proper storage practices for handguns, with an emphasis on storage practices that eliminate the possibility of accidental injury to a child; and
  5. Self-defense tactics.
  6. A physical demonstration of handgun proficiency that meets the minimum standards While students will be taught BASIC handgun fundamentals, it is the students' responsibility to be familiar and proficient with their firearms prior to attending. This course is the required in-person portion of the Online Level 3 Course. If you are RENEWING your Level 3 License, The Department of Public Safety requires that you also complete 6 hours of continuing education for renewal PRIOR to this Firearms Course. If you have not completed the required Classroom Training for Level 3 Guards (renewal), go to the following link to complete the course and required exam PRIOR to qualifying: Level 3 Online Renewal Certification Course

Prior to your qualification, you must complete the Level 3 Online Certification Course and Testing and bring your certificate provided with you for us to sign off on once you qualify.

What to Bring To The Range

  • Handgun
  • 50 rounds of ammunition
  • Hearing Protection (plugs or muffs)
  • Eye protection (sunglasses or glasses are fine)
  • Shotgun and 5 SLUG rounds *SLUGS ONLY (if qualifying with shotgun)
  • Printed Copy of their PSB-30 Certificate so the instructor can sign off. (provided via online class) Students must bring their own handgun or use a rental from the range (approx $30 including ammo). No shotguns are available for rent. Absolutely no sharing of firearms.

It is an additional $15 fee if you arrive at the qualification without your certificate. If you qualify without bringing your certificate we will email your complete certificate within 48 hours after qualification.
