2 Hour moonlit, guided tour through our national park
2 hours
Experience the Salt River Bay National Historical Park and Ecological Preserve at night as you paddle under the moon-lit sky! While the rest of the island settles down, our reef protected bay comes to life! Explore this 1000 acre preserve on a 2 hour guided kayak tour in a transparent ‘sea thru’ kayak rigged with LED lights for a view of the enchanting scenes hidden beneath the waves. Hear about rich local history while searching out the sea turtles, rays and jellyfish swimming right beneath your clear kayak
This tour is only available on the nights when the moon is bright. Our Family friendly tour is fun for all ages. No kayaking experience is required, just a willingness to learn and openness towards teamwork. Departing from the Salt River Marina, each tour begins with getting properly fitted into a Coast Guard approved paddle vest and a paddling overview with demonstration. After all guests are on the water and comfortable in their kayaks we begin trailing through the mangroves towards the rhythmic and soothing sounds of nature. Allow your capable guide to introduce you to Salt River Bay and provide insight into the variety of marine life around. Follow along on a journey through the darkness surrounded by trees filled with birds and iguanas, shallow seagrass beds teaming with life; and around bays holding history spanning thousands of years. Surrender yourself to the magic of illumination where the most difficult decision to make is whether to look down at an unparalleled view into the glowing aquatic life below, or up at the celestial glimmer of the night sky.
