The Wai Kai Wave is your easiest entry to surfing bliss. No paddling, no pop-ups–just slide in and ride! It is the perfect fit for first-timers and aspiring surfers. Helmets and soft-top boards are mandatory for your first 3 waves for a safe and smooth start.

What to Expect

The Wai Kai Wave is the easiest way for beginners to learn to surf. You don’t need to perfect a strong paddling stroke or the ability to pop up on your board in order to feel the true stoke of surfing. You just slide into the wave and go! Recommend for first timers/beginners and novice riders looking to learn to basics of riding the Wai Kai Wave!

First time riders are required to wear a helmet and use a provided soft top board for their first 3 waves.

Express Check-In:

Save time with Express Check-In Status!

Book & go! Don’t waste valuable time with pre-booked reservations. Take advantage of express check-in when you book online via the website or self-serve kiosk in the Launch. Complete your waiver via your confirmation e-mail and report directly to your activity location.

Anyone who makes an online booking/has pre-book reservations or uses the Kiosk can skip the Launch check in and report directly to the activity check in location to skip the line and collect a wristband.

Included with your session:

  • Video orientation
  • Demonstration on how to start your first surf session
  • Tandem surfing with an instructor to get the hang of being on the wave
  • On-going pointers throughout your time on the wave
  • Rashguard
  • Soft-top surfboard
  • Helmet
  • Instructions

You must be:

  • Minimum 4 feet in height
  • Surfers must be at least 10 years old and 80lbs to participate.
  • Ability to swim
  • Adequate physical fitness (as evaluated by the surf coaches)
  • Have proper surf/bathing attire to withstand high flow water
  • Not suited for women who are pregnant.

Please be sure to complete your activity waiver linked to your ticket confirmation email prior to arrival for Express Booking Check-In Services.

Pre-Booked Reservations and completed waivers can report directly to activity locations for check-in and activity wristbands.
