The morning air in Sapporo snaps cold and clear as a shuttle slides out of the city, heading northwest toward Teine’s powder fields. Within 40 minutes the skyline opens: low coastal plains, the dark slope of Mt. Teine, and a blue cut of Ishikari Bay. You step from the van into dry, “Japow” snow and into a small group led by a bilingual, internationally certified instructor—four riders max, all kit ready and lifts included.

Yes—snowboard, boots, helmet and a snowsuit are provided in the booking price, along with the lift pass and round-trip transfer.
Participants must be 10 or older and have moderate fitness; the activity is not recommended for people with serious back, joint, heart conditions, or pregnancy.
Teine rose to international prominence following the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics; its runs were developed on volcanic ridgelines that produce the region’s famed light powder.
Resorts manage slopes and lift access to limit off-piste erosion; stick to designated runs, respect signage, and dispose of waste—onsite ecosystems are fragile in winter.
