Sterile Processing Technicians clean and sanitize used surgical instruments and other medical supplies so that they can be safely redistributed and reused on additional patients. The ideal candidate will be dependable, detail-oriented, and trustworthy. Sterile Processing Technicians find employment in hospitals, ambulatory surgical centers, medical laboratories, birth centers, and other facilities where sterilized equipment is needed. This short-term vocational program will prepare participants for extensive job opportunities across our community. It will also prepare students for the CBSPD (Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution) Exam for SPD Technician certification. Please see links below.
Students must have 90% attendance and minimum C average to obtain certificate.

CBSPD Sterile Processing Technician Study Guide 11th Edition.
Optional: The Surgical Instruments Flashcards which can be purchased from Amazon are also useful for your clinical experience, the certification exam, and for use while you are employed as a processing technician.
You will have to follow all vaccination policies required for the clinical site to participate in this course.
Note that Flu Vaccines are required.
