By midmorning the landscape has changed from scrub to layered sandstone — the earth itself seems to hold its breath — and you arrive at a rim where the Grand Canyon opens like a vast wound in the planet.

Moderate fitness required: you’ll stand and walk short stretches (0.5–1.5 miles) on uneven, sandy or rocky ground and tolerate long vehicle time.
Expect about 4–5 hours of driving each way depending on traffic and the chosen itinerary; the tour is a full-day commitment (roughly 17–19 hours total).
The tour visits either Antelope Canyon X or Lower Antelope; Lower Antelope includes ladders with handrails, and your local Navajo guide will manage safety protocols.
Minimum age is 3; short unpaved hikes and cliff edges mean this tour is not recommended for guests with serious mobility limitations or certain medical conditions.
Admission and Navajo guide fees for Antelope and permits for Horseshoe Bend are included in this tour, but carry ID and follow your guide’s instructions on Navajo land.
Antelope Canyon lies on Navajo Nation land and is managed in partnership with Navajo guides; the Grand Canyon has been inhabited and traveled by Indigenous peoples for millennia before becoming a U.S. national park and UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Stick to designated paths and follow guides’ directions—slot canyons and rim edges are fragile and overcrowding increases erosion; pack out trash and minimize tripod use where it blocks narrow passages.
