You step off the van into a sun-warmed courtyard in Langa and the air answers with layered voices—call-and-response harmonies that push and pull like the sea on Cape Town's shores. Inside a simple hall, drummers keep time while singers circle, their phrases both taught and improvised, inviting you into a living tradition rather than a staged performance.
