A midmorning sun warms the corrugated roofs of Langa as locals set up tables under a scattering of jacaranda shade. Participants gather around decks of indigenous and modern board games, guided by changemakers whose stories are as instructive as the rules on the cards. Conversation spills easily between moves: history, humor, and practical life lessons shared across generations.

Langa was established in the 1920s under segregation policies and later became a center of political activism; today it blends community enterprise with cultural programs.
Programs emphasize low-impact interaction—guests are encouraged to minimize waste, avoid single-use plastics, and support local suppliers to keep economic benefits in the community.
