The boat slips away from the Marina at Cabo San Lucas and the town’s chatter thins to a swell of wind and water. Salt spray catches the morning sun as the skyline compresses into a profile of rock: El Arco, the famous Arch at Land’s End, rising like a weathered doorway between the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific. Sea lions bark from sun-warmed rocks; pelicans hover, v-shaped, scouting below the hull. Through the glass-bottom window the sea becomes a living map—parrotfish and striped sergeant majors cruising over shallow reefs.
