Start
We start from Ginučiai observation tower and then head to Ginučiai itself, an ancient ethnographic village, which was founded in 1374 and is famous for its old water-mill, which is the only one out of six watermills in the park that has preserved its authentic equipment. You will have some time to explore the place and learn more interesting facts about the history of the village.
Hiking to Ladakalnis
We then we head off to Ladakalnis, the most spectacular place in Ignalina region. There you will have an opportunity to climb the famous hill and enjoy the stunning view of six lakes located between the forested areas: Ūkojas, Linkmenas, Pakasas, Asėkas, Alksnaitis and Alksnas.
Expect to hear about local flora and fauna, pick some edible herbs and berries along the way (in summer) and possibly spot some wildlife. In winter, immerse in a snowy forest fairy tale, walk on frozen lakes and enjoy the silence of sleeping nature.
Lunch time A little bit more hiking and we stop for the hearty delicious open fire lunch and scrumptious herbal tea. This will also be an opportunity to take a refreshing swim in the wild lake in the summer. Some time to share impressions and have a short rest and we head back to Ginučiai village.
Finish
You will take a final hiking stretch to the point where you started and enjoy the whispering wind in the crowns of trees, inhaling the tangy smell of pines, thus giving your eyes and mind an opportunity to unwind and refuel.
