About This Adventure

Join the Wee Adventures Bike Club for an exhilarating two-hour monthly session designed for kids aged 5 to 12. With expert coaching, participants will build confidence, learn essential biking skills, and earn certificates. Nestled in Aberfeldy, enjoy a supportive environment while exploring local trails and cafes. Adventure awaits!

The Wee Adventures Bike Club is ideal for the bike-mad kid who loves certificates (and tricks) as well as the new biker just getting to grips with their bike and looking to gain confidence.

Duration:

  • 2 Hours once a month
  • 5 month block: Sept-Jan / Feb-June

Age

  • 5 to (approx) 12 year olds

Costs

  • Booked in a 5 month block.
  • £90 per block (£18 per session).
  • 10% sibling discount.
  • £20 for an ad hoc session if space

What to Bring

  • Bike and helmet with you. Helmets are compulsory at all times.
  • A full set of waterproofs i.e. a hooded jacket and trousers.
  • Please ensure long hair is tied back.
  • Full finger gloves are essential.
  • Bike glasses with low light and clear lenses.
  • Tight fitting trousers/cycling legwear.
  • Trainers or walking boots are recommended.
  • A rucksack for spare layers, water bottle, snacks, personal medication.

Important to Know

  • Only sign up if you have had a space confirmed with Sarah in advance (some groups have waiting lists).
  • ​Coaching ratio 1:8.
  • Missed sessions are non-refundable but you are welcome to find a substitute of similar standard to take your place.
  • We do not provide bike hire, please bring your own or email us to find out where to hire locally.
  • Bike helmets must be worn at all times (no helmet = no biking).
  • Please email Sarah if you would like a place in the Club.

Go MTB skills level

Level 1: Carry out a simple bike check; getting on and off the bike; start off and pedal; stop without help; make bike go where they want; changing gear; stop quickly with control; manoeuvre safely to avoid obstacles; look all round without wobbling whilst riding slowly; ride one handed over easy terrain; ride an easy trail. Level 2: ​Good trail practice; riding in the attack position; cone of movement; effective use of the brakes; changing gear smoothly and quietly; climbing easy hills both sitting and standing; descending easy trails; manoeuvring through a complex of obstacles; riding a trail of low to moderate difficulty. Level 3: Manual front wheel lift; power assisted front wheel lift or wheelie; rear wheel lift; manual drop-off; power assisted drop-off; track stand; cornering part 1; pumping; riding a trail of moderate difficulty.
