About This Adventure

The Te Araroa Trail is a 3,000km trail running the length of New Zealand. The Richmond Ranges in the top of the South Island are well regarded for providing the best views on the Te Araroa – as well as the most remote and difficult terrain.

Enter the helicopter!

Skip the days of hiking and grueling climbing — with a spectacular helicopter flight, you’ll land in the perfect spot amongst the tussocks, well above the tree line, to begin your adventure.

Leave the navigating to your experienced guide and focus on the unobstructed views of the 3 national parks which surround us, the curve of Tasman Bay and Nelson far below.

In just two and a half hours, you can experience the best parts of Te Araroa, something that would usually take an experienced hiker many days of walking and climbing to get to. All in the good hands of an experienced and knowledgeable pilot and guide.
