The perfect trip to explore the hundreds of islands and villages our cruising grounds have to offer. Hiking is anything from an easy stroll to a bit of rock scrambling with water views around every corner! If hiking is not quite to your taste lounge on the many pocket beaches, wade in the tidepools, or take in the beautiful surroundings.
Built in 1930, the Schooner American Eagle measures 92' on deck, 19' wide at the beam and draws 11'. She was the last fishing schooner built in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Designed to fish offshore in all weather, she is the culmination of over 200 years of design and evolution, giving her unparalleled comfort and stability. She was rebuilt in 1986 for the passenger trade, and has been sailing with guests every year since.
The American Eagle is equipped as a modern vessel with GPS, Radar, and VHS marine radio. She meets all Coast Guard requirements, and is a comfortable, beautiful and able vessel. The crew and I know the Gulf of Maine well and are happy to share our skill, good humor, and experience with you on your trip.
