Ages 5 to 8 • 4 weekly 1-hour sessions
Join a unique 4-week riding program designed for children aged 4 to 8 and their parents. Experience hands-on learning with a riding instructor, mastering grooming, tack-up, and riding basics. Engage in fun patterns and games in a cozy arena, fostering confidence and bonding through the joy of horseback riding.
4 week 1-hour sessions
$65.75+GST/lesson, total cost: $276.15
For children ages 4 to 8 and their parents or guardians. Children and their parents attend 4 weekly 1-hour sessions with a riding instructor and learn the basics of grooming, tack-up and riding. Guided by a coach, parents lead children on the horses through fun patterns, obstacles and games to help children (and their parents) learn the basics of riding and build confidence around horses. Small heated arena will be used on cold days, lessons on warmer days will take place in our full-sized arena. Perfect set-up for little ones!
Group lessons are 3 to 5 students.

Looking for private lessons? Private lessons (lunge line) are available for ages 4 to 8. Please email us at lessons@sagehillstables.com for more info. Lessons are $98+GST/lesson.
Children will need closed toed shoes with 1/2 heel for riding in (i.e. cowboy boots, equestrian boots, rubber boots or other similar footwear).
Children will need a properly fitted equestrian riding helmet. We do have helmets children can borrow, or try Greenhawk Harness and Equestrian in Winnipeg where they will fit you for a helmet.
Parents will need to come in closed toed shoes.
Bring weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy footwear for safety and comfort.
Take your time to learn the basics and listen to your instructor for a safe experience.
Make sure to drink plenty of water, especially during warm days.
Focus on bonding and having fun, rather than just riding skills.
