About

Experience majestic mountain shadows and a world-famous Arizona sunset (weather dependent) at our private mountaintop sanctuary surrounded by Tonto National Forest.

Tours depart from Carefree Sundial where you board our Custom Jeep Gladiator and head ten minutes North into Tonto National Forest. Smooth Pavement ends and off-road begins four miles later as you slow-crawl through Rackensack Canyon with knowledgeable narration by your expert desert guide. Unique plants of the Upper Sonoran Desert will be discussed in relation to the ancient Hohokam Indians who inhabited canyon up to 1450 AD.

A short time later the “Exhilarating Mountainside Ride” begins as you climb 900 vertical feet over 1.5 miles with absolutely breathtaking views at 4500 foot elevation. The short ride to the top can be a bit dusty & bouncy but is also exciting fun with entertaining narration and educational photo stops along trail.

Upon arrival at Summit you will enjoy complimentary refreshments at the off-grid, Rammed Earth Studio/Gift Shop with free time to relax on patio while taking in jaw dropping vistas or try your hand at Steer Head Roping, Corn Hole and Horseshoes.

At sunset, you can select one of several unobstructed overlooks to enjoy the panoramic view. Depending on cloud conditions etc., the sky typically changes to various shades of pink, red, orange, and purple, all with a stunning Desert Mountain backdrop.

Whether you are interested in couple / group photos or a full Instagram shot with your camera, our tour guides will be happy to capture your moment for a lifetime of memories.
