Painted Sky Alpaca Farm is a family-run alpaca farm located in Earleville, Maryland. The farm raises and cares for alpacas and offers public tours that introduce visitors to alpaca care, fiber processing, and farm life.
Visitors can choose between a 1.5-hour Standard Tour and a 2.5-hour Large Group / Bus Tour. Both tour options include supervised, hands-on interaction with alpacas, educational information about daily care and husbandry, and a guided look at fiber processing practice. The Large Group / Bus Tours include an expanded schedule and a complete tour of the farm’s on-site fiber mill.
The property operates Maryland's only full-service fiber mill on site, where raw fleece is cleaned, processed, and spun into yarn. The on-site mill supplies finished yarns and fiber products that are offered in the farm Gift Shop. The Gift Shop features alpaca-made goods and finished yarns produced on the property.
Painted Sky Alpaca Farm accommodates families, small groups, and organized bus tours, providing arranged visits that balance animal interaction and educational content. Staff members oversee guest interactions, explain responsible handling, and present fiber workflows in a way that supports animal welfare. As an agritourism destination in Earleville, Painted Sky Alpaca Farm contributes to local fiber arts and offers direct visibility into the production chain from fleece to finished product.
Advance reservations are recommended for specific tour types and large group bookings. Seasonal events and private scheduling options may be available by prior arrangement for groups.
