Description

This full day tour highlights the beauty of the northern karst region of Puerto Rico, its caves and its topographic diversity. You will join us on an adventure that will take you from caves, to refreshing river waters and even for a swim in the ocean. We will leave the touristy area of San Juan behind and head into an area sparsely populated. Where haystack hills, grazing cattle and natural beauty take center stage. Where the term “Island Life” acquires meaning.

Our first stop on this full day tour will be Cave The Window / “La Ventana”. This cave can be described in one word: Breathtaking! After walking a short distance and passing through stalagmite and stalactite formations you will witness The Window/”La Ventana” which sits approximately 600 feet above sea level at the top of a limestone cliff overlooking the valley and river of Arecibo. From here you will even witness part of the central chain of mountains of Puerto Rico. The view from the opening will just leave you speechless. Our second stop will be a refreshing dip in a waterfall at “Charco Hondo” and after having a yummy Puerto Rican lunch, we will explore Cave The Indian / “Del Indio”, another spectacular cave. Its beauty lies not only in its ocean front location but in the many Indigenous carvings that adorn its walls and transport us to a time when Taino Indians roamed our Island. This cave and surrounding areas has been featured in the movies like Pirates of the Caribbean and the Perfect Getaway. At the end of this tour you will have the option of taking a dip in the Ocean.
