Discover Italy’s culinary traditions firsthand with the Modena Cooking Class, where hands-on cooking meets local history. Perfect for food lovers seeking an active, authentic experience in Emilia-Romagna.
The Cooking Course for tourists is an unforgettable experience for those who come to visit the wonders of our city, having the opportunity to cook and eat an authentic traditional Modena meal. The idea of teaching some dishes of Emilia's culinary richness is a winner, making people cook, making them dirty, kneading and doing something they would never have done before is truly wonderful. The courses are specially designed for those who want to visit Modena and, despite having limited time, still want to savor all its aspects.
The courses are totally practical, interactive and will allow everyone to create and enjoy their own plate of fresh pasta. The cooking classes of Modena Food Lab work because a lot of space is given to the practice: the chef shows the steps to follow and the trainees replicate, individually, in their own workstation, the dishes on the menu. What does it mean? That our cooking classes are truly a unique experience in which yes, you have fun and relax, but you really have the satisfaction of cooking like an Italian!
The cooking classes for tourists are held by expert professionals in the gastronomic sector, chefs from Modena restaurants, teachers at local hotel schools, teachers who combine a passion for cooking with public speaking skills, management of a work group and knowledge of the English language. The fundamental points of our service are cheerfulness and professionalism of each of our collaborators, high quality raw materials, possibly seasonal and local, and maximum mastery of traditional Modena cuisine and the English language. They are suitable for couples, small groups, families, even with children aged 8 and over, and for those who want to have fun in the kitchen, learning to cook traditional Modena and Italian dishes.
The topics covered are manifold and can be agreed in every respect: • traditional fresh pasta (tortellini, tortelloni, tagliatelle, lasagna) • bakery (tigelle, fried dumpling,) • typical Modena products (zampone, cotechino, boiled meats, Modena PDO ham, traditional balsamic vinegar, Parmesan cheese) • traditional sweets (Barozzi cake, English soup, Bensone) • DOC wines (Lambrusco in the Sorbara, Grasparossa di Castelvetro and Salamino di Santa Croce, Pignoletto varieties)
