Epic Views Experience Santa Barbara’s scenic vistas, mountain views and wide open spaces in nature’s year round playground. Our world class rides are available any time of year thanks to the temperate climate of the American Riviera. Expertly trained horses, saddlery, and friendly guides are provided for this unforgettable trail ride.

Stunning Trails Located in Santa Barbara, California, just north of Los Angeles, we are the closest location to LA County for horseback beach riding. Our beach and trail rides utilize the beautiful Montecito Trails Foundation network, meandering through canopies of coastal live oaks, mossy willows, stunning estates and breathtaking beaches.

For All Experience Levels We offer trail rides for guests 10 years old and up. If you child has experience riding and is between 7 and 9 years of age, please contact us directly by phone. Los Padres Outfitters is open 7 days per week, year round thanks to the temperate climate of Central Coast California. No experience is necessary to enjoy the great outdoors on horseback. Our horses are suitable for riders with all levels of horseback riding experience.

A Ride For Everyone Individual, group, family, sunset, sunrise, and picnic adventures can be arranged any time of year and for any number of people; with advance notice, we can accommodate more than 10. Our family has been riding these trails for generations. Join us for an incredible trail ride in the heart of Old California.

What to bring

Purses, backpacks and other large or baggy items cannot be carried on the horse as they may restrict your ability to ride. Small cameras, water bottles, ect. can be carried in a small pouch (saddlebags) provided on your saddle by Los Padres Outfitters.

Long Pants and closed-toed shoes are recommended for all riders.

Plastic rain ponchos and umbrellas are prohibited during inclement weather. Guests may wear rain jackets or coats or we have slickers available to rent for $5 per ride.
