When you gaze towards the sea from one of the most beautiful vantage points above Koper, you know that you are in Slovenian Istria where grapes for exquisite wine grow. At the farmhouse with a typical Istrian courtyard, you will learn about the history of Istria and Istrian wine-growing. Walk to the oldest Refosco vineyard in Europe, which is more than 150 years old. The wine produced from these old vines matures in oak barrels in a boutique wine cellar for at least a year. In the vineyard or in a house with a hearth, enjoy an Istrian marenda (mid-morning snack) the kind our grandfathers, our predecessors used to eat – with dried meat products and freshly baked homemade bread. In Marezige, at the first wine fountain in Slovenia, you can also taste our local wines and delicious Istrian specialities.
