Join Jo, a British Alpaca Society Judge, for an immersive 1 or 2-day course at Hilly Ridge Alpacas. Experience a blend of classroom learning and hands-on practice, covering everything from basic care to breeding. Small groups ensure personalized attention, and you'll leave with a certificate to showcase your newfound expertise.

Jo is an affiliated trainer for the British Alpaca society authorised to deliver their approved training material for the Introduction to alpacas course and also a BAS Judge and Tutor . We started breeding alpacas in 2012 and really enjoy sharing our experience and what we have learnt along the way. We hold various courses for people new to alpacas or have a few alpacas and want to know more - introduction to alpacas course, or for owners who want to or are considering breeding Practical alpaca course, Breeding and Birthing , Fleece assessment , advanced alpaca assessment etc.

One day course : Module 1: Feeding and basic management Module 2: Vaccination, Supplements, Illness and Ailments Module 3: Handling alpacas

Our courses are both theory based in a classroom and also on farm with lots of hands on practical experience. Course are kept small to optimise learning and give the opportunity to ask lots of questions.

Certificates of completion are given at the end of the course from the British Alpaca Society which demonstrates learning to other breeders who you may wish to purchase alpacas from or who you care for.
