The Strassendorf (main street) Tour is entertaining and enjoyable. It operates every morning (except Sunday). The tour provides you with an overview of the village so you can start your visit knowing the history of the village, the great places to eat and also to shop. You are taken to locations not available to the general public with numerous photographic opportunities. Visit a historic Hahndorf pub, hear about the early settlers of Hahndorf and their flee from Prussia. Understand about fachwerk architecture, the origins of the pretzel and admire the pioneering women for their faith and entrepreneurial spirit. Stories about the Village you don’t hear without a guide. You will enjoy the information as well as have a lot of fun.
The Strassendorf Tour is conducted in the southern end of the main street, (which is what word Strassendorf means – see you have already learned something!) Guests are greeted outside the famous Hahndorf Inn, 35 Mount Barker Road, Hahndorf.
A business discount sheet is provided to walkers for use in the village for 6 months.
