***- This is still camping in a tent, not a hotel room. There is no room or maid service. Heat is provided by a wood stove, wood provided. It will still get cold overnight, but not as cold as a tent only. You must provide your own sleeping bag (at least 30º or colder rating recommended in winter and summer), pillow, food, and transport (hike or mountain bike) to the yurt ***- We provide a wagon for helping transport your stuff to the yurt, and gear delivery is available for $50 (1 way out and 1 way back). Gear must fit in the back of a Polaris Ranger (approx. 36 x 54 x 11 inches). Please pack your gear for your yurt stay with this in mind. (Leave things you don't need at the yurt in the car or at home. We have had people pack hair dryers for instance.) Note: Last minute gear deliveries will not be accepted. ***- We provide up to 21 gallons of potable water, but it is always a good idea to bring some with you. ***- Kitchen items, pots, pans, plates, silverware etc. and a stove and lantern are provided in the yurt. See yurt instructions (link below) for a more comprehensive list. ***- There is also an outhouse, a full stock of firewood, and a great views of Wheeler Peak and Gold Hill nearby.
Mountain weather changes quickly—bring insulating layers for nighttime chill and breathable shirts for daytime warmth.
Though streams are nearby, it’s safest to bring enough water to stay hydrated during your hike or bike-in approach.
Use the wood stove carefully and ensure ventilation to maintain warmth without smoke buildup inside the yurt.
Aim to reach the yurt before dark to familiarize yourself with the route and settle in comfortably.
