Charco El Pilón is a hidden gem located in San German, in the southwestern region of Puerto Rico. This is a natural oasis with a stunning waterfall and pool. The waterfall cascades down from the rocks above, creating a refreshing mist and soothing sound. The natural oasis is crystal clear and calm, making it a perfect spot to swim or relax on a hot day.
The drive to San German is about one hour and a quarter from the Rincon area. This trail is also great for birding. We will hike approximately 45 minutes (2.5 miles) each way. Generally considered a moderately challenging route.
Trails are moderate and uneven; solid shoes are a must for safety and comfort.
Waterproof clothing or a small dry bag helps keep electronics and clothes dry at the waterfall.
