Guided Tours by Former Guards - A Unique Opportunity to Experience Brushy!

Approximately 1.5 - 2 Hours
Note: The guided portion of your tour lasts roughly 60-90 minutes, but you are welcome to spend as much time behind the wall as you like once your guided tour is complete. Must book online up to 12 hours prior to tour time.
Note: Public Guided Tours are available on Wednesday (June - August), Fridays, Saturdays, & Sundays at 9:30 a.m Eastern Time only April - October and Saturdays & Sundays only at 9:30 a.m. Eastern Time in November. You will be combined with other small groups. Please note, SPACE IS LIMITED.
About
Due to the size of the hallways and rooms at Brushy, it would be disruptive to the groups to have to pass through narrow corridors and stairwells during regular visiting hours with other guests. The private morning tours offers your group a unique opportunity to visit and experience Brushy without any distractions.
What to Know
- Pets are not permitted on tours at this time. Only service animals will be permitted.
- Brushy is located in the Eastern Time Zone.
- Handicapped parking & restrooms are available. The majority of the tour is handicap accessible. However, because the prison has no elevators, there are areas in the tour such as The Hole and the prison’s cafeteria that are not accessible due to their locations within the prison.
What to Wear
In the fall and winter months, you should dress warmly. Temperatures inside the prison can be up to 10 degrees cooler than outside. During summer months, normal summer apparel is fine.
Please wear good, sturdy footwear. For your safety and comfort, walking or running shoes, boots, etc. are preferred.
