Deer Haven Park’s “WALK IN THE PARK TOUR” Get up-close and personal with nature and its surroundings known as the former Seneca Army Depot on this unique 1.5-mile walking tour. Tour will take place rain or shine, so don those sneakers (or rain boots), optionally bring walking sticks, binoculars, cameras, and water. Tick and insect repellant is encouraged. A short bus ride will take us deep into the park and pick you and your guide up at the end of our hike which will be predominantly on the inner roadways.
We will peek the interior of one of the US Army's special ceramic storage buildings, adventure a newly revealed dispossessed family home foundation, see the “Q area” rear entrance up close, and check out a personnel bomb shelter. The beaver dam will be accessed via a grassy pathway, and a rarely visited storage igloo in the Alpha section will be entered. In addition, we’ll get to admire the Park’s unique wildlife as they chose to make an appearance.
