Our Tank Driving Experience is a one-to-one activity, making it suitable for anyone and everyone. Whether you’re a confident driver or have never driven any type of vehicle before, you can be sure that this activity is tailored to meet your individual needs.
Upon arrival, you will be kitted out in a tank suit (if needed) and given a helmet. Your instructor will then take you to our tank track which is located on an old WWII bombing range.
Following a safety briefing and short history lesson about the FV432 tank, your instructor will drive one lap of our track whilst you enjoy the ride in the turret seat. Next, it’s over to you. You will be shown how to use the controls and given a headset before heading off for your first lap. At first, you will drive with the driver’s hatch open, giving you the chance to become accustomed to the track and the controls. Then, it’s time to get out of your comfort zone and drive the second lap in battle conditions with the hatch closed, using only the periscope to see the track. For your third lap you can choose – will it be hatch open or closed?
