About This Adventure
Experience the charm of Myrtle May, a delightful miniature steam locomotive inspired by the historic C16 design. Operated by dedicated volunteers at Highfields Pioneer Village, this unique ride runs monthly and on special occasions, inviting families to create lasting memories while enjoying a nostalgic journey through the village.
About
Myrtle May was built by Nelson Hoey in the name of his wife. Myrtle May`s parts were cast at the Toowoomba foundry. Based on the production drawings of the 1915 C16 Steam locomotive, Myrtle May is a smaller scale model of the C16s, originally designed in 1903 as an improved 4-8-0 loco built by various firms.
The track was officially opened on the 11th of December 2016 at 10:00am. Highfields Pioneer Village Volunteers aim to run little Myrtle May regularly on last Sunday of every month and special days.
Important Information
Under 5years are required to have an adult accompany them, for more information please read the rules of ride. The Village is also open everyday except Christmas Day from 10am to 4pm.
ALL PASSENGERS MUST WEAR ENCLOSED FOOTWEAR. NO THONGS…NO SANDLES….NO BARE FEET….. NO EXCEPTIONS.
