Embark on a breathtaking 2.5-hour coastal hike along the Wild Atlantic Way, featuring stunning views and a picnic lunch at Broadstrand Beach. This guided adventure combines scenic forest trails and cliff walks, perfect for families and friends. Discover the beauty of West Cork while enjoying a relaxed, memorable experience.
Distance: 7.5km (5 miles) Climb 125m (400ft) Terrain: Flat/rolling countryside. Some open cliff areas (path is set well back!)
A half day guided coastal hike that includes lunch – great for families, friends and groups. Walk along a fairly flat route on coastal paths and quiet roads with superb views of coastal and rural scenery. This looped walk follows the coast from Courtmacsherry, out towards the Seven Head Peninsula with plenty of interesting places to view along the way – an off-the-beaten-track stony beach. A picnic lunch at the beach is included.
This tour includes a picnic lunch at Broadstrand Beach, outside Clonakilty. Picnic lunch to consist of wraps/rolls plus cold drink.
Throughout the cycle, there are opportunities to bird watch and enjoy the coast and farmland scenery. In the summer, wild flowers add colour to this amazing cycle.
This route and variations is over mainly flat terrain. Although mostly flat, there are 1-2 moderate, gentle hills along the route. Mountain bikes are provided with helmet and high vis vest. Bottled water is also supplied. The exact route varies depending on your fitness/interests and the pace is relaxed unless you desire otherwise! The guided tour includes lunch and a drink at a local café. Menu varies but example would be toasted sandwich and soup with tea/coffee or cold drink). Scones, cakes, ice creams etc. are also available but not included in the price. As the tour follows the coast, the weather can be breezy so pack a light raincoat and wearing layered clothing is advised. Shades/sunglasses are also recommended as are comfortable shoes suitable for cycling. Please note, this is an out and back cycle rather than a loop.
