Adventure tips

Prep for short boat transfersBring a small daypack for transfers and shore landings—large suitcases can be cumbersome when boarding tenders.

Protect against sun and saltUse reef-safe sunscreen and a wide-brim hat; reflections from the water intensify exposure even on cloudy days.

Mitigate seasickness earlyIf you're sensitive, take antiemetic medication before boarding; morning stretches and fresh air help during open crossings.

Respect marine life and local communitiesAvoid anchoring on coral, don’t hand-feed wildlife, and follow guides when visiting fishing villages to minimize impact.

Recommended gear

Light waterproof jacket: Protects against sudden tropical downpours and cool sea breezes in the shoulder seasons.
Reef-safe sunscreen: Reduces sunburn risk and helps protect sensitive marine ecosystems while swimming or kayaking.
Water shoes: Useful for beach landings, slippery limestone and getting in and out of tenders.
Seasickness remedies (patch or pills): Helpful for the occasional rough stretch of water; take before boarding if you’re prone to motion sickness.
