A cold mist hangs in the spruce and birch as you step out of the minivan—pine resin, wet earth and the metallic murmur of water in the canyon draw you down the trail. Within an hour’s drive east of Tallinn you enter Lahemaa National Park, where narrow streams carve through glacial soils and pockets of ancient forest cradle a sequence of cascades.

The full outing is about 4–5 hours total, including roughly 1–1.5 hours driving from Tallinn; expect 2–3 hours of hiking on forest trails between the falls.
