A thin wind pushes across the moraine as you climb toward a bowl of glacial water the color of a struck match — green sharpened by suspended rock flour. The trail rises through bands of lenga and ñire, each step opening a wider view of the Ibáñez River valley and distant General Carrera Lake. By the time you crest the last slope, Laguna Verde sits below like a stolen piece of glacier, cold and compelling.
