You step off the Jungle Bus at the ridge, jungle pressing close on either side while Arenal Volcano looms across the valley. The canopy opens beneath a network of cables: a pulse of wind, the distant roar of La Fortuna and Pino Blanco waterfalls, and guides checking harnesses. For the next four to five hours the forest will push you forward — on foot, in the air, and from the back of a quiet horse.
