A humid breeze carries the metallic tang of riverstone as guides clip helmets and check ropes—the day begins under the shadow of Arenal Volcano. The itinerary threads rainforest gullies and the Balsa River: guests hike a brief 4x4-backed approach, rappel four waterfalls and a canyon wall, climb short rock sections and finish by paddling lively Class II–III rapids where the current dares you to move faster.

Moderate to good fitness; comfortable with heights, basic swimming ability and the ability to hike on uneven, wet terrain
Minimum age is 8; children must be accompanied by an adult and meet safety requirements.
No prior experience required—guides provide instruction for all rappels and the raft is guided, but you should be comfortable in water and with heights.
Avoid loose electronics, jewelry and anything you are not willing to lose; the operator is not responsible for items lost in the river.
The trip is weather-dependent; if rivers are closed due to flooding or safety concerns you will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
